At Beacon Baptist Church we’re all about Jesus – studying His Word – and gathering with His people

To grow devoted followers of Jesus Christ.

Our desire is to help people discover a personal relationship with Jesus, to grow deeper in that relationship, and to spread the gospel through church ministry, personal evangelism, church planting locally and around the world.

Love God. Grow Together. Shine Forth.

We want the gospel to take center stage in our hearts and around the world. Jesus said to His followers: “…All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen” (Matthew 28:18–20).

Jesus’ directive is our highest priority. Every facet of church activity, in some way, relates to our biblical purpose.

Just as the New Testament church in the book of Acts was focused on making disciples, so are we! Acts 5:42 records of the Jerusalem church: “And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.” This young church was constantly engaged in communicating the gospel and helping people become devoted followers of Jesus.

“And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbor as thyself.”
– Luke 10:27
Biblically, “Love” means to give of yourself, “self-sacficially”. God calls us to make God 1st in our life. This require us to deny ourself, put God 1st and requires us to place the needs of others before our own. We can not love others until we begin to love God 1st then we will be able to begin loving others. This type of love can only come by knowing Christ personally as your Lord & Savior.

“But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.”
– 2 Peter 3:18
We believe that every person needs a life changing relationship with Jesus Christ.  Jesus gives forgiveness of sin, a changed life, and hope for the future.  But that is not the end of the journey!  Through preaching, teaching, prayer, and personal time with God, we continue our journey growing in character, and in the likeness of Christ.  Also, as we interact with other believers, it moves us on to further growth.

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
– Matthew 5:16
We believe that the Church is at its best when it serves, sacrifices, and loves people both inside and outside the church.  We shine forth as we find a place of ministry in the local body.  We also shine forth by sharing the Gospel with those who need the Lord – through witnessing to friends, coworkers, neighbors, and loved ones, as well as participating in church outreach and giving to missions.

The New Testament gives us a pattern for following Jesus.

Step 1 – Believe in Jesus

Salvation from sin is a moment of faith. God says, “…Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved…” (Acts 16:31). This belief is more than a head belief—it’s a heart trust. It means to fully trust Jesus Christ as the only Saviour—the only way to God, the only hope of rescue from separation from God. This is what Jesus called being “born again” in John 3.

The first step of our process in developing devoted followers of Jesus is to help them place their faith—their belief—in Jesus alone as Saviour. This is biblical salvation. To learn more about this decision, please click here.

Step 2 – Follow Jesus in Baptism

The second step in your relationship with Jesus is baptism. Baptism doesn’t make someone a Christian. It doesn’t wash away sin. It’s simply going public with your faith and choosing to identify with our almighty, merciful Saviour. Jesus was our example in baptism, and He commanded us to be baptized—to publicly show forth our heart decision and faith. Baptism pictures His death, burial, and resurrection. It also pictures your new life in Jesus Christ.

Baptism is one of the first, easiest, and best ways to be a witness to others about your faith in Jesus, and to publicly declare you are not ashamed of Him.

Step 3 – Connect with Believers

In Acts 2, those who believed were baptized, and then they were added to the church. Once someone has believed in Jesus, their next step is to connect with a family of believers. Through these relationships, a new Christian can grow and mature in the faith and teachings of Jesus. It is our goal for every new believer to be baptized and then connected with friends and others in the church body who can help you mature and grow in grace.

The primary way we connect and disciple believers is through our connect groups. There’s a group for you, and new friendships are waiting to be discovered!

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23)
No one is good enough to go to Heaven on his own merit. No matter how much good we do, we still fall short.

For the wages of sin is death… (Romans 6:23)
Just as there are wages for good, there is punishment for wrong. The penalty for our sin is eternal death in a place called Hell.

But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)
Christ’s great love for us was shown when He died on the cross to pay our debt.

But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23)
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Romans 10:13)

Everlasting life is a gift purchased by the blood of Jesus and offered freely to those who call upon Him by faith.

Let us help you word a prayer. (Realize it is not mere words that save, but your faith in Jesus Christ).

” Dear Jesus, I know I am a sinner. Please forgive me for my sins. Jesus, come into my heart and save my soul from Hell. I am trusting you, and you alone, to take me to Heaven when I die. Thank you for saving me, Jesus. Amen! “
